Imagine teaching your kids at home

. . . What about the crucial social skills the home educated are said to lack? With Elizabeth, it was quite the opposite. I think traditionally schooled adults forget just how weird school settings can get. The social traits we wish to instill in children are mostly of the adult variety — courtesy, empathy, patience, seeing others' points of view. Children pick these up by emulating adults, not the eighth- grade boy who thinks his beef with you can be settled by a fight after school.
