Imagine teaching your kids at home

. . . What about the crucial social skills the home educated are said to lack? With Elizabeth, it was quite the opposite. I think traditionally schooled adults forget just how weird school settings can get. The social traits we wish to instill in children are mostly of the adult variety courtesy, empathy, patience, seeing others' points of view. Children pick these up by emulating adults, not the eighth- grade boy who thinks his beef with you can be settled by a fight after school.
